I realize this is an old post, but I stumbled across it and had to comment.

The humanness of a villain can certainly be a weakness, but it can also be that which makes the villain truly terrifying. They might realize that acts they're committing are wrong, but they usually claim that "the ends justifies the means." It's this twisted justification that creates the fear; if you find yourself agreeing with, or even understanding, your villain's line of reasoning, make it more arbitrary or make the leaps of logic farther and less straightforward.

People who commit evil acts, recognize that the acts are evil, and have no justification or reasoning for them are psychopaths. While psychopaths occasionally make great villains (e.g. The Joker), they are often difficult to write for and usually seem too unrealistic.

I've found your informational blog/website, to be extremely helpful. At the moment I'm a freshman in high school and writing is just a fun hobby, but it is something I take a lot of joy from. You've helped me progress in my fictional writing a lot, especially since I can never seem to knock enough classes from my schedule to take a creative writing class.

Hey angelica! I've read the book and I've got all the whole Rondo Trilogy, so I can help you out on some questions you want to answer, if you already got the book then this is a waste of time, but anyway, CONKER is a character in this book who is the adult of the other two main characters: Leo and Mimi (not her real name) and he's the one who lives in Rondo so he shows them around and helps them fight the blue queen (bad guy) and you only turn the key on the box three times only so you don't end up got to their land (you can only go to rondo if you break the rules and have the key with you) I think that's enough for now, anyone have questions just ask me. :)
